Hoe je met één hand, een paar knoppen of gewoon de muis eindeloos plezier kan hebben.
Je zou denken dat een genre zoals roguelikes zich niet zo leent tot toegankelijkheid — snelle actie, veel vijanden, chaos overal. Maar niets is minder waar. Als ADHD’er is het net mijn favoriete genre: ik hoef geen ingewikkeld verhaal te onthouden, ik kan gewoon in een nieuwe run duiken, en elke sessie duurt meestal maar 20 à 30 minuten. Geen ellenlange levels of eindeloze tutorials. Gewoon spelen.
En nog beter: heel wat roguelikes hebben verrassend eenvoudige besturing. Sommige kan je zelfs volledig met de muis spelen. Ideaal dus voor wie met één hand speelt, weinig motorische controle heeft, of gewoon geen zin heeft in ingewikkelde controls. Hieronder deel ik tien van mijn favoriete roguelikes die niet alleen leuk zijn, maar ook supertoegankelijk.
Why this list?
Toegankelijkheid betekent niet altijd dat een spel ‘makkelijk’ moet zijn. Het betekent dat je een spel kan spelen, op jouw manier.
Of je nu met één hand speelt, een aangepaste controller gebruikt, of gewoon geen zin hebt in ingewikkelde besturing: deze roguelikes laten zien dat eenvoud en plezier perfect samengaan.

Hou je van kaartspellen? In Balatro combineer je pokerhanden om waanzinnige scores te halen. Geen tijdsdruk, geen stress. Alles doe je met de muis. Echt alles. En als bonus: het spel bestaat ook op mobiel, voor wie liever tapt dan klikt.

Ballionaire
Pachinko meets roguelike. Je laat balletjes vallen, richt upgrades, en kijkt wat er gebeurt. Geen toetsenbord nodig — alles werkt met de muis. En de runs zijn lekker kort. Ideaal voor even tussendoor… en dan toch weer één extra run. En nog één.

Brotato
A potato that shoots aliens. What more could you want? Your weapons fire automatically, aiming happens automatically. You only need to move (with the joystick or arrow keys). And between rounds, you choose upgrades with a single button. Very accessible, and addictive.

Necrosmith
For those who prefer things a bit darker: you are a necromancer crafting your own army from body parts of fallen warriors. You control everything with the mouse. Calm, tactical, and absolutely unique.

Dungeon Clawler
It’s like playing a claw machine at the fair, but in a dungeon. You only need the arrow keys and space. Not difficult, but charming. And: bunnies. Cute bunnies.

Roguelike billiards. Sounds weird? It is. But it works. You move and play with the mouse, without any other buttons. No stress, but definitely strategic. And above all: fun.

Slay the Spire
The ultimate classic among roguelike card games. Every turn, you carefully choose your cards to advance in the tower. Fully mouse-controlled, with no time pressure. Perfect for those who like to think and don’t need to aim or react quickly.

Rogue Waters
Pirates and tactics! You command a ship, search for treasure, and dodge dangers. Controls? Just with the mouse. No hectic action, but smart choices. Bonus points for the atmosphere (pirate songs!).

Defend your train against waves of enemies using cards and strategy. You also play this game entirely with the mouse. Plenty of depth, but no complicated controls.
